Can someone do the math on how much sustainable energy we would be wasting so people could get somewhere faster than a normal plane?

Wind resistance is supra linear naturally, but its also a more aerodynamic plane than a normal one, but also carries less passengers.

Its prolly something like 5x-10x worse.
