Cooperatives work based on the management and control of the working force rather than shareholders. Its the main difference between a traditional company vs a co-operative.

Co-ops are worker-owned. I don’t know exactly how it works but you can imagine it as that there’s no board, there are no external shareholders, and 100% of the stock is distributed among the workers.

The workers themselves own the company, make the decisions, keep the profits.

Imagine if the shareholders, management, and labor union were all one and the same, vs adversarial. It's really that simple.
