A GitHub issue where every Russian user was just mentioned (opens in new tab)

Maybe they already know that and just don’t like being spammed on GitHub by some hypocrites.

I’d be really mad too if I lived in Russia under that lunatic and couldn’t even code in peace without being harassed..

Users on GitHub are probably among the least likely to buy into Putins propaganda anyway so I can’t see the utility in this besides some self image and ego inflation for the people behind this.

And guess what from the perspective of pro-Russian users this is also harassment by “the west” and will only further their sympathy for Mr. P…

The vest majority of tech specialists in Russia don't believe the propaganda. The real problem is, many don't care about the news at all, just like Chinese.

People are social animals. Some people probably hope to find others in their area.

Because the people who would decide to actually reply there are likely either annoyed, trolls or idiots as it looks like obvious flamebait. In no way this helps to resolve any actual problems in any meaningful ways.
