Every time I get to the front page, there's something about SQLite there. Is there some ring of up-voters working on it?

Or it could be because its a topic that genuinely interests people, and why wouldn't it:

    * efficient
    * easy to use
    * well documented (docs not just extensive but readable)
    * many very useful features

All this making it great for many side projects, which is what a lot of people are very passionate about.
