The beta (a Chrome extension) stores the data in the browser (chrome.storage). Although we're also looking at server storage to allow users to sync their Catche across browsers and devices.
The search engine doesn't need your email address! But we are limiting our beta access to a small group for now, so we will be using the email address to follow up with selected participants.
