There's a chance of holocene/human era becoming a mainstream calendaring system.

Whether that chance is greater than the chance of the human race lasting another 8000 years; I'm not sure.

I think rather than cooking ourselves we are actually going to bring about the end of the holocene sooner than it would normally have happened. something seams to reach a tipping point at the end of each interglacial period.
