Currently data is stored on central servers. We don't see this as our long term approach. It's what we have had to do while trying to realize this project with limited resources.

No. Your data is not shared with others. You can also create journals that are private and public on Futureland.
> Is it free (gratis), or what is the pricing?
Pricing is $5/month for unlimited entries. Your first 75 entries are free.
> is it a toy/game or a tool?
It is a tool that aspires to feel fun to use like a toy or a game.
