That's a massive if to base a health care system on.
Like, look at the incentives. If they over-react and Omicron is much less severe, people will be upset but they'll get over it.
If they under-react, and it turns out to be Delta-level with much more vaccine escape, that will be much, much worse.
And this is one of those un-reversable decisions beloved (or hated, I guess) by Jeff Bezos.
