Hello hacker news! When I was a kid I was obsessed with this small, web based MMORPG game “Fallen Sword”, and more specifically, the items within the game. I joined guilds and made a ton of connections just to get my hands on rare items. I loved the lore, silliness, and look of the items. I started a little project to make my own assets that look similar to Fallen Sword items, but with a modern twist that doesn’t have any limits as far as backstory is concerned.
It’s a small project but I accept submissions, and the eventual goal is to have a place where artists (or non artists like myself) can put together sets of items to promote themselves, or even mint their own NFTs (I understand NFTs as a concept but have little technical knowledge about them, so I wouldn’t explore this territory unless specific artists wanted their own NFTs).
People I’ve shown this to so far have no idea what it’s about or why it exists, which actually doesn’t bother me! I understand if the idea is a bit out there, or seems useless. The fact is I enjoy the process of making new sets of items, and a space where you can be limitlessly creative but within a certain amount of pixel dimensions. I’d love to have some more eyes on it, and maybe to even get some submissions!
