Freenas, self-signed tightly-scoped CA installed on all of my devices. 1TBx4 in a small case shoved under the stairs.

tbh, i would vastly prefer to use a cloud based service with local encryption - I'm not super paranoid, just overly principled

What do you use to sync phone photos to your NAS? I like Google Photos' smartness, but I also want my photos on my Synology NAS.
