Congress doesn’t do anything in piecemeal. Imagine how much better the affordable care act could have been if they had broken it up. First ban denial for pre-exsisting conditions. Let the market settle then bring in employer mandated coverage, and then let the market settle! I have dreamed about working for myself, but the price of private insurance is so grossly out there that we could not afford it. It’s not that I don’t love the company I work for, it’s a good company, sometimes I’m only here for the insurance. Shoving such large “solve everytning” legislation seems to do more harm than good because it takes ten, fifteen years to fix all the mistakes made in the first place.
