From a business standpoint I fully understand their decisions. However from a customer standpoint it's hard to trust apple when you know the only privacy they may enable is that that your country allows them.
There seems no resistance from Apple, why would anyone believe their country would not be next? Probably even opening up data that was private in the past without notice?
