Clickbait title, but I agree with the emotion of building websites/webapps for phones with much less processing power. However, one thing I would like to stress on is how people like me who love the smaller iphones are presented with horrible experiences. I was hoping that the author would argue in favor of dropping Safari. I can't remember how many times something didn't get implemented because "it doesn't work on Safari"

I don't fucking care if it doesn't work on Safari. I'm tired of Apple dragging the entire ecosystem down just so that they could have their 30% cut.

When enough developers start developing with that mindset, perhaps potential buyers' first association to the iPhone will be "that phone on which most websites don't work."

don't see anything wrong with title. IMO developers now a days just test their thing one or two phones and call it a day. They usually test in a high speed wifi with the fanciest phone. Otherwise we would see individual all downloads for kaiOS and urge phones

The app lockin ecosystem is an economic and social barrier. It is a designed system to create haves and have nots

Using IPhone and Android optimized websites, locks everyone out. Everyone who isn't privileged enough to be able to be in the artificial walked garden crashed by apple.

Nice article. The title, while technically an accurate representation of the author’s intent, really lets it down. You’d think you were about to click on some flame bait or a worthless rant or something.

TLDR - the iPhone is a really powerful mobile device. Lots of people have smartphones without that much processing power.
