What’s the deal with the “75%” and beige covering the article on my mobile browser? Was enjoying the article at first but that was annoying enough that I came back here to complain.

As the previous commented said, it is how much energy is left in the battery as the site is solar powered and goes down sometimes.

While I can tolerate it, I do agree it is really annoying from a user experience POV.
