If you want to emulate an actual VT52, you might want to start with the DECscope User's Manual as your primary source.

To be fair, the author doesn’t claim it’s anyway good. From the top of the README:

> This is a pretty inaccurate emulator of a VT52. I'm sure it's missing several features.

If you want to emulate the VT52, you can fire up MAME. It supports that. :)

Ends up being sort of like QEMU, translating VT52 input/outputs into the input/ouput whatever your actual terminal is. That's pretty neat.

There are others utilities which do the same. I imagine Wyse is much more widespread than vt52 escape sequences today:
