I wonder if Cuomo is going to refund all the people who bought his book "American Crisis: Leadership lessons from the Covid-19 pandemic"?? By all accounts, his leadership wasn't too good.

Looks to me like FL did worse than CA in terms of total deaths [1].

I think a better case could be made about Utah, yet I suspect their good CFR is due to differences in reporting COVID deaths.

From here, it shows that CA is double FL on per capita deaths. (you have to set the states in the widget)

Also, the average age in FL is 42 vs CA at 36.
