Would you make the same argument about someone who incurred a TIA (or a series of them), but did not even visit the hospital, let alone get admitted?
More importantly, it became understood by early summer that a clotting dysfunction was the root cause of many (most?) of the system failures (respiratory, renal, hepatic, circulatory, etc) associated with covid. "Covid toe" is a symptom experienced by many who did not seek treatment.
Just because you didn't notice any damage (or didn't notice it anywhere other than your toes) does not mean that it didn't happen.
