I prefer Butterfly Backup (https://butterfly-backup.readthedocs.io/en/latest). It is much simpler and you can interact with backups without the bb tool, just with linux and the file system.

That backup software also looks useful. The key feature for me with restic is the ability to upload the encrypted backup directly to cloud storage with all the nice de-duplication features.
