I'd say a part is that the violence is turned toward competition, not emotion. Who's going to win the fight? The emotion part is toned down.

Rape on the other hand is mostly emotion.

Not to mention what competition is there to have over raping? Shooting games are purely competitive, a competitive raping game just sounds dumb.
