It's good that Microsoft is removing this, but I'm skeptical it will make any difference in the end. Absent this, a shitty boss is going to use some other, equally pointless metric.

Sure, but that's like saying I shouldn't get a Polio vaccine because I might get hit by a car and injure my spine.

More like saying "You should get that polio vaccine... but you are still going to get hit by a car."

Ultimately, if you have a bad boss, they are going to find some shitty way to screw you over. If you have a good boss, this is irrelevant.

I do think it's good that Microsoft pulled this, I'm just cynical it will make a difference.
