I would love to learn about robotics development including - writing the software - sourcing and assembly of parta - (eventually) design.

Are there any good places to find kits/projects/reading material/ directed at my demographic?

For those working in robotics - what's the best path there for someone working as an intermediate back end developer and dabbling as a compiler engineer?
