I forget what we started on, but in the mid-90's we used to use a Solaris software suite in tech support as a knowledge base. That software was great.
Then we got a new manager, and he made us all switch to Windows NT and Lotus Notes for the knowledge base.
I think right up until the end of that company, only that manager liked Lotus Notes. Talk about clumsy and taking up way too much screen space to show any amount of information that previously was far more compact and easy to find.
