I’ve been contemplating a computer monitor and a sound bar.

I would prefer to have a remote with on/off and volume but I guess I can use my phone for most of that.

Instead of a dumb TV you can get a public/info/business display and add an external tuner or video source if needed. Finding one that supports HDR can get a bit tricky though since that's not their major selling point, but they do exist.

Ironically I'll link a Samsung [1] but there are options. Home theater enthusiasts (ugh) will of course berate you because "YOu'RE PaYING MORE For LESS FeAATURES!!", which is true. I haven't yet found a commercial display offering Dolby Vision.

Open up the back and find the wifi antenna when you set it up. It should only take an extra 15 minutes at most.
