We work in a remote setting with a lot of trust and freedom. Usually that doenst get exploited, but there is one guy I'm not sure about. How can I raise concern on the time he puts in without destroying our relationship?

Are you his manager?

If not first thing talk to your manager.

Keep in mind that your perceptions may not be accurate. Assessing folks remotely is hard.
