Excellent question. I rely heavily on machine translation, and while auto-subtitling on YouTube is misleading for speech, it's atrocious for song[1]. Maybe we'll get some native speakers to answer by tomorrow?

Well, it doesn't work for many countries that use DD/MM instead of MM/DD.

It'll work out for programmers, since most of them would prefer ISO 8601 dates [1] anyway.
