Hey HackerNews folks: I’m an early career data scientist currently working for an AdTech company. I’m a US citizen. My wife is Romanian, and we’re planning on applying for a marriage based green card in a few weeks. Our life goal is to figure out a way to split our time as equally as possible between Romania and the US. Has anyone had success with this sort of arrangement? What do I need to worry about (e.g. taxes, immigration laws, anything else?)? Is it reasonable to expect to find a full time US datascience-y or software engineering job that would allow this type of arrangement? What experts should I be consulting (eg immigration lawyers or tax lawyers, etc)?
