Hardly charitable. Do you think everyone who has a different view from you total scum of the earth?

Maybe they came to a totally rational conclusion, using a completely different set of axioms than you would, that this change is worth it?

Initiated by what? They decided to review the terminology prior to a mob existing? I'm not sure if you're purposefully ignoring the context that all of this is unfolding under.
