“Technology” er software er The top few vendors are gonna drive us backwards

The recent releases of software from almost all major software vendors (Apple, Microsoft, Google etc) point to even more invasive data collection.

I don't get it.

WTF is sooo freakin valuable on people's computers (or their online travels) that is SO valuable that these companies are spending TREMENDOUS amount of resources to develop software that can scrape that data.

I get , how social media has no choice but to sell your data, but we're talking operating system manufacturers. Why do THEY need to do it.

Who is buying this data? or rather...who the fuck is buying this data.

I seriously don't get it.
