Me: "I won't be writing in a way you want to get upvotes from you.".

You: "I didn't downvote you :) Its not possible to downvote responses to your own posts.".

Making things up is certainly unnecessary and commenting on someones writing style is certainly rude.

Again, that's my view, it doesn't have to match your view. We can both have different views and express them freely.
