Kitty has a very nice way to search and insert unicode characters (shift+control+u).

I tend to use the CTRL+Shift+U shortcut with the codes memorized or looked up from https://unicode.org/charts/ (https://odoepner.wordpress.com/2018/01/04/enter-unicode-char... goes through how to use it) instead, so I can use them all over (IRC + Slack + Browser + Terminal).
