Netscape 5 was never released. They skipped that version when they decided to focus on the Gecko engine (later used in Firefox).

Netscape 6 was released using the new Gecko engine.

Thus why upgrading is complicated. Requires writing the upgrade yourself

If jwz had his way, 5.1 would have existed.
