From an European perspective, there is hardly any reason to hold our governments standards as having the moral grounds to establish what's the most efficient way to act in ethical issues like this. Perhaps relative to the USA, yes, so you could be correct that certain government's ineptitudes have a correlation with how creative people get to get heard.
