I recently started seeing many Subreddits adopt Discord. Some Github repos adopt Gitter. To me it seems like in some sense comments sections are getting replaced by these platforms (I'll admit I don't know the metrics behind this statement, but maybe? At least to some degree?). Seems like the web was inherently lacking a "real-time" feel that is being filled by these platforms. Any strong opinions on this?
