I dont think food aids were responsible for the massive growth in Nigeria's population though improved healthcare definitely played a role in that. I think the biggest contributor to population growth has been the consistent susidizing of the local economy from oil income. Also, Nigeria was able to handle the ebola epidemic that got to its shores with little to no outside assistance.
