Ask HN: How do you advertise your blogs?

This is targeted more towards those who don't maintain a really popular blog (yet!)

I've recently started blogging again. Its been more than 10 years. I don't know what's a good way to advertise blogs.

Is spamming your facebook / twitter / snapcat[1] still cool or does everyone now just publish to reddit / hn[2]?

[1]: I've not logged into any of them for half a decade now. [2]: are these just shiny new sites like when Technorati / Digg used to be?
