Similarly, there's been a lot of buzz around end-to-end encryption (e.g. WhatsApp, Telegram, Symphony) as a way to restrict access to private data without relying on a trusted third party.
Given these trends, why haven't we seen an end-to-end encrypted DBaaS yet? Is there no significant market for it? Are there features (e.g. analytics) that are infeasible to provide without sharing keys with the service provider? Or are there already better ways to realize the above benefits without such a service?
