If you're asking whether companies pay more for you as an employee, I don't think so. Sometimes I even get the feeling that they like you less because you might be a threat to management (since you typically ask them about IT
and the business aspects of what they do)
But if you ask whether they give you more money because you are now in another relationship with them (consulting?), then absolutely, yes.
