Also, it looks like they say "for god's sake don't pip install":

So the actual problem you have is that you selected an operating system that has zero native support for interpreted languages, and you're mad that they didn't cater their software to you?

I use Ubuntu, but I've been a Windows software developer in the past. I don't immediately discount that platform, because I know a ton of developers run Windows.

(Seriously, though, VBscript, JScript and VBA are natively supported through WSH on Windows)

That doesn't say not to use pip install. It says not to do it as root. So yes, pip install away

Ahh, confusingly worded. I would expect it to say something like "if you use pip install, don't use sudo" not "don't use sudo pip install" ... the alternative to "don't use sudo pip install" is ... everything else in the world, so I sort of assumed it just meant, don't use pip in general.
